About the Arab Union of Productive Families, Crafts and Traditional Industries

It is one of the Arab federations that operates within the scope and functioning of the Arab Economic Unity Council of the Arab League and includes Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, the Emirates, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Bahrain, and Qatar.

This union was established on February 1, 2016, and it was decided in 2020 that Damascus, Syria, would be the headquarters country. It has branches and regional offices in each of the member states, including the regional office in Libya.

It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization whose purposes do not include commercial activities, religious propaganda, or political activities.

The union’s powers and work
  1. Supporting the growth and development of the activity of productive families and craft and traditional industries and meeting their food needs by strengthening their capabilities.
  2. Adopting innovative initiatives and integrating institutional development regulating this activity.
  3. Supporting the capabilities of family activities and craft and traditional industries.
  4. Formulating training, qualification and training programs at home and abroad.
  5. Providing specialized quality advice and holding events and conferences.
  6. Adopting applied scientific knowledge management programs and expanding the use of technology.
  7. Contributing to creating a shift towards applying the latest production technologies in accordance with the actual needs of the customer market and production, and achieving professional excellence.
  8. Linking the relationships between this sector and the rest of the economic and social sectors in the Arab countries.
  9. Preserving the distinguished Arab cultural and civilizational heritage.
  10. Promoting opportunities for economic growth, sustainable and spatial development.
  11. Providing opportunities to enter Arab and international markets and protecting local Arab markets from foreign competition.
  12. Activating the lending mechanism, especially microfinance, as it is the most effective means of supporting productive families with limited resources and empowering them economically.
  13. Preparing a unified guide and database for Arab economic professions and developing it periodically.
